Join our upcoming webinar to learn more about this toolkit.

Tuesday, October 29 from 12-1 PM ET

Science X Design offers curated information on design principles informed by the science of early childhood development and guides you in how to gather input from the people involved in your services. Through an interactive learning, listening, and synthesis process, you will identify opportunities to adapt your early childhood program to support the healthy development of young children and their caregivers.

Join us on Tuesday, October 29, from 12-1 PM ET for a webinar on this new tool from the Center on the Developing Child. A brief overview of Science X Design will be followed by a discussion of those in the field who’ve started to use the tool.

Better Bedtimes for Autistic Children

Better Bedtimes for Autistic Children

This neuro-affirming course is a unique blend of consultation, sleep education, and autism support designed specifically for parents and caregivers of autistic children developmentally aged 3 to 12 years, who struggle with bedtime, falling asleep, and night wakings. The primary goal is to empower parents to achieve a more restful, connected, and confident parenting experience while supporting their children to fall asleep and sleep well.

Created and hosted by Suzanne Gunn, a certified Infant and Family Sleep Specialist, autism support consultant, and mother in an autistic, ADHD, and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) family, this course offers practical steps for immediate support and valuable insights for future family needs.

Over 6 weeks, participants will engage in a collective deep-dive into understanding behaviours, addressing underlying causes, and discovering how to achieve better rest and ease. By the end of the course, parents will be equipped to respond to their children’s needs with confidence and regulation rather than reacting from frustration and exhaustion.  While the ultimate goal for many may be for children to sleep independently with minimal effort, the course focuses on discovering each child’s unique capabilities and transforming bedtime from the most challenging part of the day into a joyful opportunity for connection and positive experiences.
